Location: Fresno, CA

Applied EarthWorks, Inc. (Æ) has an immediate opening a full-time Director of Finance in our Fresno, CA office with some flexibility for a hybrid schedule. This position reports to and works closely with Æ’s President/CFO.

Pay Range:

Principal $93,600 - $120,640 annually

Duties:

  • Oversee and participate in accounting and financial aspects of the company including client invoicing, pricing initiatives, month end close, ESOP accounting, forecasting, and banking/treasury management;

  • Supervise the Human Resources Manager and administer HR strategies, processes, and operations including employee life cycle (recruiting to exit), performance management, and personnel compliance;

  • Supervise the Safety Program Manager and administer the health and safety plan to protect employee owners, reduce risk exposure, and adhere to all legal and contractual requirements;

  • Oversee the end user IT needs of the company and coordinate along with the employee lifecycle;

  • Champion process improvements and problem solving;

  • Contribute to innovations, business development, and the profitability of the company.

Skill Requirements:

  • Leadership presence, confidence, maturity, and tact;

  • Outstanding attention to detail, hands-on and results focused;

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook);

  • Prior experience with Deltek Ajera or similar project management-based ERP system;

  • Excellent management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

  • Outstanding communication, follow up, and other interpersonal skills necessary to successfully perform and interact throughout all levels of the business.

Education and Experience:

  • CPA or MBA equivalent desired; advanced degree in anthropology, archaeology, historical archaeology, or business-related field required.

  • 15+ years of demonstrated experience in a leadership role in a service business with multi-location/multi-state employees.

  • Demonstrated experience in Human Resources, CA wage and hour law, Health & Safety compliance and workers compensation management.

An employee in this CA-based position can expect a salary of $93,600 - $120,640/year for the Director of Finance position.
