HUMAN RESOURCE ANALYST

Location: Fresno, CA or remote

Applied EarthWorks, Inc. (Æ) has an immediate opening a full-time Human Resource Analyst in our Fresno, CA office with flexibility for a hybrid schedule. This position reports to and works closely with Æ’s Human Resource Manager.

Pay Range:

$50,000 - $75,000 annually

Duties:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for disability leave programs including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), California Family Rights Act (CFRA), State Disability Insurance (SDI), State Disability Insurance – Paid Family Leave (SDI-PFL), and Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL).

  • Maintain regulatory compliance of company records processing, monitoring and sustaining routine and complex leave requests.

  • Engage in the interactive process to determine if reasonable accommodation will allow an individual to perform their essential job functions. Research options and gather data in support of recommendations and/or decisions.

  • With exceptional attention to detail, handle payroll and benefit processes related to leaves, disability, and workers compensation.

  • Complete, request, and reviewed medical verification forms for FMLA, CFRA, and PDL in addition to guiding filing claims for disability, unemployment, and workers compensation benefits.

  • Promptly respond to information requests internally as well as externally, including EDD and subpoenas for documentation.

  • Contribute to policies and updates of the Employee Handbook and the Health and Safety Plan (HASP). Evaluate policies for clarity and ease of use, making recommendations for changes as necessary.

Skill Requirements:

  • Leadership presence, confidence, maturity, and tact;

  • Outstanding attention to detail, hands-on and results focused;

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook);

  • Prior experience with Deltek Ajera or similar project management-based ERP system;

  • Excellent management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

  • Outstanding communication, follow up, and other interpersonal skills necessary to successfully perform and interact throughout all levels of the business.

Education and Experience:

  • At least 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience in an organization with multiple offices/worksites.

  • Degree in business related field may be substituted for some work experience.

  • Disability, Unemployment, and Workers Compensation experience in a service-based business is preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of California employment law and practices.

  • Ability to explain leave programs and reasonable accommodation practices to all levels of employees.

  • Willingness for professional development and continuing education to keep skills up to date.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Intermediate Word & Excel skills are a plus.

An employee in this CA-based position can expect a salary of $50,000 - $75,000/year for the Human Resource Analyst position.
